Evelyn D. Schlei age 91, of Plover passed away June 19, 2015 at St. Michaels Hospital in Stevens Point.
A memorial service for Evelyn will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday June 22, 2015 at Divine Word Lutheran Church in Plover. Pastor Scott Wolfram will officiate. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories from 10:00 AM until the time of services at the church on Monday. Shuda Funeral Services of Plover & Stevens Point are assisting the family.
Evelyn was born April 30, 1924 in Watertown, the daughter of Edna Baumann. She married Rev. Charles Schlei on June 10, 1950 in Watertown. The couple lived in Milwaukee and Hurly briefly before settling in Hortonville. There Evelyn worked at the United States Post Office. In 1978 the couple moved to Germany and lived there until 1981, before returning to Manitowoc. Rev. Charles died in 2002 and Evelyn shortly thereafter moved to Plover to be with her daughter. She loved being with her family and friends.
Evelyn is survived by her daughter Debbie Iverson, Plover and 3 grandchildren: Erik (Anita), Jeremy (Katie), Jenna (David). Her sister: Ruth Vergenz, Ft. Atkinson. She was preceded in death by her mom, and her husband.
