Polifka, Vernon V.

Vernon V. Polifka, age 66, a life long resident of Kellnersville died Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center of Manitowoc.

Vernon was born on November 29, 1948 son of the late Victor and Rose (Steeber) Polifka. He attended Mishicot schools graduating in 1966 and began his working life at Lapcor Plastics. He spent the majority of his life as an automobile and snowmobile mechanic, part-time bartender and fisherman, until he began working at Hamilton's Steel Plant in 1998.

Besides fishing, Vern enjoyed many cribbage games, spending time with his two great-grand nephews; Quentim and Calvin and was recently reunited with high school buddies for more card playing.

Survivors include his niece: Kathy Hlinak, Kellnersville; grand niece: Lisa and her husband Brian Garbe and their children: Quentim, Taylor, Brianna and Calvin. Uncles, aunt other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, grand parents and other relatives.

A Memorial visitation will be held at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Kellnersville on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Private entombment of his cremated remains will take place at the Knollwood Mausoleum.
