Janearl Francis, age 89, of Norborne, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at her home.
She was born January 1, 1926 in Carrollton, MO, the daughter of Cecil Cary and Minnie May (Gilreath) Winfrey. She was a graduate of Carrollton High School.
On October 7, 1944, she married John Henry Francis, Jr. of Norborne, MO. They enjoyed 62 happy years together. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2007.
Janearl was a homemaker and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was an active member of the Norborne First Baptist Church, volunteered at H.E.L.P. Services, member of RAO, and 4-H leader. She also taught one year in a one-room school house at Cherry Valley.
She enjoyed playing cards, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Janearl is survived by two daughters, Rosy Korff and husband Tim of Norborne, and Peggy Swearingin and husband David of Carrollton. She was the grandmother (“Ma-Ma”) of Rob Korff and wife Gay Lynn, Angela McDowell and husband Allen, Ann Jacob and husband Jamie, Diana Smith and husband Jacob, Becky Fisher and husband Josh, and Tracy Grady. She was Ma-Ma to twelve great grandchildren: Logan and Jenna Korff; Nathan and Brandon Jacob; Clara and Connor Smith; Carson, Kinsey, and Carter Fisher; Monica, Calvin, and Mariah Grady. She was great-great-grandma to Abrah Korff.
Janearl was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Patsy Ann Francis, twin sister of Peggy, who died at birth, her brother Jewell and sister Jeanette, and her great-grandson Mitchel Korff.
The body will lie in state on Saturday, March 21, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Bittiker Funeral Home, 1201 North US 65 Highway, Carrollton, Missouri.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Norborne, Missouri.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 22, 2015, at the First Baptist Church, Norborne, Missouri.
Burial will be in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
