LAWSON HOPKINS, born at Plainfield, Vermont 22 September 1802, and died at Boston, Mass. 3 December 1834, age 32, due to pleurisy fever. He married at Boston, Mass. 25 December 1827 (by Rev. William Jenks), ELIZA ANN SMITH , born at Portsmouth, N.H. --- 1810; and died at Westborough, Mass. 6 February 1894, age 83 yrs. 2 mos. 5 dys., due to apoplexy.She married (2) Francis Leonard, who died before 1880. Eliza was residing with her daughter and grand-daughter in North Andover in 1880 [U.S. Federal Census]. In 1829 Lawson is listed on the Boston City Directory, living at 2 Hancock Row, as a handcart man. Lawson was buried at Tomb # 123, South Burying Ground, Boston, Mass., service by Undertaker Thomas Haskell. Eliza was buried at Ridgewood Cemetery, North Andover, Mass.
