Forlì born Marcolino Amanni joined the Order of Preachers at their convent of San Giacomo Apostolo of his native city at the young age of ten. Spending his remaining years there, he did not distinguish himself as a famous orator or as a brilliant academic, but simply through his simple and austere way of life devoted to charity and prayer. His only ornament in his cell was an image of the Virgin Mary. Passing away in February 1397, his remains lie venerated inside the cathedral of his city. Pope Benedict XIV confirmed his cult on May 9, 1750.
