King William: Rebecca Sibley Carter Day went to be with the Lord on March 22, 2015.
She was predeceased in death by her parents, David Victor and Eunice Major Sibley; second husband, William Hershel Day; brother, David Julian Sibley; sister, Rose Sibley Loser; and her youngest son, Bryan Keith Carter. She is survived by her children, Vickie Carter Weymouth McKinley, David Wayne Carter, Sr. and Thomas O’Connell Carter, Jr; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Rebecca was born in Middlesex County at Locust Hill at the onset of WWII and her roots in this county run back over 300 years. As a child, she attended Harmony Grove Baptist Church and many generations of her family are buried there.
Rebecca went to school in later life and became a nurse. She worked mostly with Alzheimer patients both at Libbie Convalescent and Beth Shalom. She lived her last years in New Bern, North Carolina and loved being on the water.
Her remains will be laid to rest at Rosewell Memorial Garden Cemetery in Gloucester with her late husband and her son.
