Arthur Cobb, 80, Dies Last Night At Passavant

Arthur Cobb, 812 South East street, died at 11:59 p.m. Tuesday at Passavant hospital after an extended illness. He was 80 years of age.

Before his retirement several years ago, Mr. Cobb had been employed in the refrigeration department at the Illinois State hospital for about 30 years.

Surviving are his wife, Annabelle, and one son, Andrew of this city, and other relatives.

The body is at the Gillham funeral home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later with further obituary facts.

Funeral Services For Arthur Cobb Will Be Friday

Funeral services for Arthur Cobb, a resident of this city for more than 60 years, will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Gillham funeral home. The Rev. Roy S. Hulan, assisted by the Rev. W. J. Boston, and the I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 4 will be in charge of the services. Burial will be in Diamond Grove cemetery.

The family will meet friends at the funeral home today between 3 and 5 p.m. and 7 and 9 p.m.

Mr. Cobb died Tuesday at 11:59 p.m. at Passavant hospital after an extended illness.

A native of England, Mr. Cobb was born in Scarborough on Dec. 3, 1867. His marriage to Annabelle Taylor took place in this city on April 18, 1894.

Before his retirement several years ago, Mr. Cobb had been employed in the refrigeration department at the Illinois State hospital for 32 years.

He was a member of Central Christian church, I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 4, Rebekah Lodge No. 13 and Temple Encampment.

Surviving are his wife, a son, Andrew of this city, one brother, Charles Cobb, Sr., four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

His home in this city was at 812 South East street.
