Ralph R. 'Sam' Ricci Sr., 83, of Pond View Dr., Coventry, formerly of Johnston, died Sunday at Kent Hospital in Warwick. Husband of Gloria (Castelli) Ricci and they were married for the past 55 1/2 years.
Born in Johnston, the son of the late Giuseppe and Angelica (Palestrini) Ricci .
Ralph enjoyed gardening, bike riding, horseshoes and spending time with his grandchildren.
Besides his wife Gloria, he is survived by 2 sons, Ralph R. Ricci Jr. of Johnston, Robert R. Ricci of Coventry, 3 daughters Carolyn Ricci of Coventry, Virginia Gemma of South Carolina, Gina Fazio of Cranston, 4 brothers Orlando Ricci of Johnston, Anthony Ricci of Cranston, Vincent Ricci of Johnston, Ronald Ricci of North Providence, 3 sisters Angelina Barone of East Providence, Anna DeFusco of California, Lena Almonte of Massachusetts.
Brother of the late John, Oliver, Carmine and Alfred Ricci . Grandfather of 15.
Burial with Military honors will be in Highland Memorial Park in Johnston.
