Nellie Carter Middlebrooks, 85, formerly of Union, widow of Luther Middlebrooks, died Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2005.
Mrs. Middlebrooks was born in Chester County, Feb. 29, 1920, a daughter of the late William and Sarah Elizabeth Dickens McCoy Carter. She was a member of McCutchen Memorial Presbyterian Church. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II as a WAC - Nurse.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Wanda Middlebrooks of Moore; two grandsons, David Middlebrooks and Richard Middlebrooks both of Moore; a sister, Edna Sinclair of Columbia; two brothers, Horace Thomas Carter and Earl McCoy both of Union.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2005 at S.R. Holcombe Funeral Chapel. Burial will be the Haney Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the McCutchen Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1438 Lockhart Hwy., Union, SC 29379.
