Funeral service will be at 11am Monday at Crain Funeral Home, Newton, with the Rev. Tim Pearce officiating. Burial will be West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Newton.
Jean was born on July 13, 1922, in Wade Township, Jasper County, the daughter of Winfield Koontz and Bertha Resch Koontz. On December 31, 1949, Jean married Roy L. Addis in Morganfield, Kentucky. Roy preceded her in death on April 3, 1995. Jean held a variety of jobs throughout her life. She worked for Bodner's Egg Plant, the shoe factory in Olney, Newton Coin Laundry, E. R. Moore, and the Jasper County Treasurer's office. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Newton, and Oblong High School Class of 1941.
She is survived by sons, Tim (Alice) Addis of Newton and Jim Addis of Effingham; daughter, Debbie (Jay) Hart of Newton; 6 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Joann (Lowell) Wilson of Newton, and Linda (Larry) Warfel of Martinville; sisters-in-law, Rita koontz of Newton, Maxine Koontz of Robinson and Imogene Mahaffey of Effingham.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and brothers, Bobby and Don Koontz.
