In 1881, Maria's father left Italy for America. She followed with her mother in 1885 or 1887 and the family settled in North Providence, Rhode Island.
She married Domenico Conca on October 12, 1896, in North Providence and they had eight children in 16 years: Theresa, Anna, Luigi (who died as a baby), Nettie, Mary, Etta, and twins Alice and Mabel.
Domenico became a professional, a tax collector, and they bought a house on Charles Street. Like her father, Domenico died young, at 48.
Maria died on July 8, 1965, in North Providence, Rhode Island, at the age of 86, and was buried in Pawtucket, Rhode Island with Domenico and her baby, Luigi.
