Agnes was born on Dec. 1, 1918, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late John and Rose (Andres) Bleser. She attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School. Agnes married Henry "Sam" F. Oswald on Aug. 17, 1937, at Holy Innocents Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on Feb. 17, 2002. Agnes and her husband, Henry, owned and operated Oswald and Sons Amusements for 30 years until her retirement in 1980. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church in Reifs Mills and enjoyed dancing, gardening, collecting and traveling. Agnes was an avid Scrabble player.
Survivors include four children and their spouses, Roger (Lorraine) Oswald, Manitowoc; Daniel (Dawn) Oswald, Kellnersville; David (Annette) Oswald, Rockwood; Rose Mary (David) Jensen, Reifs Mills; 14 grandchildren: Susan (Dan) Corbeil; Karen (Jon) Wieczorek; Steven Oswald; Doug (Sue) Oswald; Dean (Stacie) Oswald; Deanna (Don) Weger; Darrin Oswald and special friend Ang; Dana (Mike) Tesarik; Deidra (Joe) Ebert; Joanna Karl; Valerie Sampson; Christina (Paul) Miller; Brian (Sue) Jensen; Jamie (Angie) Jensen; 29 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Oswald; two grandchildren, Dixie Ann Oswald and Scott Oswald; one brother, Lester Bleser; one sister, Hildegarde Oswald.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Reifs Mills. Rev. John Becker will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m.
