Mr. Wayne Smoot, 38, died suddenly at his home on North Midway Street at an early hour Monday morning. He waft. Taken ill, and when medical aid arrived, he ,was pronounced dead.
Funeral services were held Tuesday 3 afternoon from the Clayton Baptist Church, with the pastor, Rev. George W. Abrams officiating. Internment was made in the Clayton Cemetery.
Pall bearers were Robert Sewell, Jack Grubbs, Frank Daniel, Phate Pugh, Dewey Spines and Cecil Wood.
Mr. Smoot Is survived by his widow, two sons, George and Jerry, of Clayton; his father, Mr. W. W. Smoot, Montgomery; three brothers; four sisters, a number of other relatives and a host of friends who were grieved to hear of his untimely death.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Wayne Smoot, Clayton; two sons, George and Joseph; father, W. M. Smoot; four sisters. Mrs. Oscar Green, Louisville, Ala.; Mrs. G. E. Norton, Montgomery; Mrs. J. L. Bracewell, Ozark; Miss Mary Frances Smoot. Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, Emmett, Panama Canal Zone; Shelton and Bertram, both of Clayton.
Funeral will be held from the Baptist Church in Clayton Tuesday at 3 p.m.
