Ann Nadine Tingle Lila passed away April 23rd, 2007 at her home in Mesa, AZ. Born October 23rd, 1927 in Philadelphia, Mississippi. Survived by her husband of 57 years, Paul; son, David, of Casa Grande, AZ; daughter Paula Murtagh and her husband James, of Mesa, AZ and son Mark and his wife Jessica, of Flagstaff, AZ; grandchildren Paula, James, Kevin, Thomas, Michael, and Kristen, and great-grandchildren Garrett and Kaylee. Ann worked as a secretary at the Pentagon in Washington D.C., and later the Military Air Transport System (MATS), Brookley Field, Mobile, AL. It was there that she met and later married Paul P. Lila on January 14th, 1950, in Mobile. Tours of duty led Paul, Ann, and their children to Illinois, Florida, Alaska, and South Carolina before settling in Mesa, AZ in 1964, shortly after Paul's retirement from the Air Force. Ann completed her Bachelor's Degree at Arizona State University, was a substitute teacher, and an avid genealogist. She was smart, funny, curious, and helpful. She will be missed by so many, but never forgotten. Visitation will be held at Melcher Mortuary Chapel of the Roses, 43 S. Stapley Drive, Mesa, AZ on Thursday, April 26th, 2007 from 5-8 pm with a Rosary recited at 7 pm. Mass will be offered 10 am Friday, April 27th, 2007 at Christ the King Church, 1551 E. Dana Ave., Mesa, AZ.
