Russelle Burley Pillow
Russelle Burley Pillow, 89, of 112 Quail Ridge Drive, Altavista died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at her home. She was the wife of the late Nathan Newton Pillow.
She was born May 14, 1925, in Amherst, a daughter of the late Marion Rosser Burley and Sally Falwell Burley. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Altavista. Russelle was a voracious reader, an avid bridge player, and a wonderful hostess while entertaining friends at her home. Her neighbors and lifelong friends held a very special place in her heart and she considered them part of her family. She treasured her life as wife and Mother.
She is survived by two daughters, Anne Pillow Olsen and her husband Harry of Chicago, Ill. and Jane Scott Pillow of Altavista; a brother, Ross Burley and his wife, Gladys, of Amherst; and two sisters, Kathleen Meredith of Lynchburg and Roberta Burley of Amherst.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel and Gary Burley.
A memorial service is planned and will be announced later this Spring.*
