Bloomington

Eugene Raymond Solfelt, age 90, of Bloomington, died peacefully surrounded by family, loved ones and caregivers. World War II veteran, math and science teacher in the Richfield School District. An inspiration to all who knew him to live life with love, honesty, integrity and compassion.

Eugene was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. Preceded in death by his loving wife, MaryAnn; and infant son, Peter. Survived by daughters, Karen (Tom) Larson, Judy (Troy) Gylling, Naomi (Mike) Sheldon; sons, Tim (JoAnn), Paul, Mark; grandchildren, Joshua (Linda), Dylan, Lanae, Wyatt, and Rollie. Proud member of 84th Infantry Division Railsplitters, Elks Club, and VFW. His smile, sense of humor and laughter will be missed by all.

Special thanks to all the outstanding caregivers at Breck Homes in Bloomington and Fairview Hospice.
