AGNES HOLLIDAY KIRBY
(Birmingham) Agnes Holiday Kirby, 91, of Birmingham died Saturday, Aug 17, 1996.
Mrs. Kirby was the daughter of Charles Amos and Annie Florence Garrett Holliday of Roanoke. She was born in Roanoke, where she was a member of First Baptist Church. Upon her marriage to Robert M. Kirby, she moved to Birmingham. Two sisters, Thelma Holliday and Edna Holliday Lett, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Robert A. Kirby of Eufaula; daughter, Florence K. Etheridge of Hoover; sisters, Evelyn Weston of Roanoke, Rena Bramlett of Valley and Melba Williams of Sims, N.C.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kirby studied piano and organ at the Atlanta Conservator and Judson College, was a member of Southside Baptist and was organist at several churches, the last being Huffman Methodist for 32 years. She was accompanist for voice studios, city choruses, opera workshops and contestants at conventions of the National Society of Arts and Letters, and held offices in NSAL locally and nationally, Woodlawn Music Study Club, Alabama Guild of Organists and Women's Chamber of Commerce.
Graveside services were Thursday, Aug. 22, at 10 a.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery, Ridout's Valley Chapel directing.
Memorials may be made to the church or charity of one's choice.
