Final services are being conducted this Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock from the Evangelical Lutheran Church St. John for Mrs. Eileen M. Johnson, 40, esteemed lifelong resident of Sycamore, who died Saturday afternoon at her farm home in rural Sycamore following an extended period of failing health. The Rev. Donald Ryding is officiating and burial win be in the Elmwood cemetery. Many friends called at the Van Natta Funeral Home to pay their final respects from Sunday evening until this morning, when the body was removed to the church.
She was born August 1, 1920, in Sycamore, the daughter of Harry C. and Wilda Knappenberger Carlson. She attended the local schools, and on October 14, 1939 was married to Everett Johnson of Sycamore. They have farmed in this area throughout their married years. She was very devoted to her home and family, also interested in the works of her church, she having been a faithful member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of St. John for a number of years.
Left to mourn her untimely death are her husband and two sons, Adonis and Denton, both at home; also her parents and two sisters, Mrs. Barbara Volpp and Mrs. Gladys Jones, both of Burlington.
