DURHAM - Joseph Payne, 81, Durham, died Saturday in Sutherland-Harris Memorial Hospital, Pictou. Born in England, he was a son of the late Joshua and Alice Payne. He was a member of the Scotsburn United Church and was a retired carpenter. He is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Mrs. Eldridge MacIsaac), Durham; and three grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Ola Sharpe; a sister, Ina. Funeral service was held today in Scotsburn United Church. Interment was in Heatherdale Memorial Gardens.
