The remains of Dr. H. L. Davis, who died in Denver a few days ago, reached El Paso yesterday, accompanied by a brother of the deceased, W. C. Davis of Texarkana. A brother-in-law H. E Cornwall of Marshall, met the remains here.
The funeral took place yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock, the Rev. G. M. Gibson, pastor of the Trinity M.E. church officiating. The remains were laid to rest in Evergreen cemetery beside those of the deceased wife.
The deceased was a member of the Logan-Davis Lumber company of El Paso and was at one time a director in the National Exchange bank of El Paso. He came here from Pleasant Hill, LA, where he had been a practicing physician, to benefit his wife, but she died about a year ago and he soon followed, both succumbing to tuberculosis.
