Marcus (Mark) Andrew Moris, 78, of Wirt, MN, died peacefully on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Bigfork Nursing Home in Bigfork, MN.
A funeral Mass honoring Marcus will take place at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, April 10, 2015 at Our Lady of the Snows Catholic Church in Bigfork, MN with Fr. Thomas Galarnault officiating. A visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. A celebration of his life will follow at the church hall. Cease Funeral Home of Blackduck assisted the family with arrangements.
Marcus was born August 18, 1936, in St. Paul, MN to Leo and Gertrude (Bartell) Moris, he was the youngest of six children. On April 22, 1961, he married Sharon Marie Jones. Together for 53 years, they raised five children. He served in the Army National Guard Reserves in the 1960s. Marcus was a carpenter and established his own company Beaver Builders in Oakdale, MN. He built many homes and buildings through Minnesota in his life time.
He also loved animals and farming. For many years, Marcus would drive on the weekends up to Wirt to care for his farm every weekend. His heart was in northern Minnesota and eventually moved his family to Wirt hoping to have an easier life of farming, but was soon back to building with his company.
Marcus is survived by his children, Maureen Moris of Wirt; Pamela (Mike) Dorrance of Colorado; Mark Moris of Puposky; Patrick (Jannessa) Moris of Blackduck, and Matthew (Elizabeth) Moris of Wirt/Hinkley; one grandson Andrew Moris and his sister Noreen Vidal of Grand Rapids, his many nieces and nephews especially, Terri (Brett) Tucker and Dawn Rose, as well as many extended family members dear to his heart.
Marcus was preceded in death by his wife, brother and sisters, parents and grandparents.
