She grew up on the east side of St. Paul, graduating from Harding HS in 1947. She was named Outstanding MN Artist statewide in 1946 and 1947. She was selected to represent 3M in the St. Paul Winter Carnival as a Princess. She worked as a graphic artist at her own business Mor-Art Studio. Noreen lived in St. Paul until 1983 when she and her husband “Jack’” retired to Pineview Farm in Wirt, MN. There they built their retirement home. She loved gardening, wildlife, nature and the preservation of the environment. She loved to teach children and adults alike about her passions. She was an active volunteer in whatever community she lived in and proudly presided as regional President of the Blue Bird Society. She and Jack travelled extensively, visiting almost every state west of the Mississippi including Alaska. She made several visits over the years to San Francisco with her childhood and lifelong friend, Elayne Heimer.
She loved to spend time with her family and was extremely proud of her children. She had a heart of gold and was always generous with her gifts of humor, joy, storytelling, encouragement and laughter. She was a feisty spitfire her entire life and lived life on her own terms.
Noreen was preceded in death by her husband John Vidal; parents Leo and Gertrude (Bartel) Moris, sisters: Bernice Brown, Lorna Rose, Arlene Yzermans, brothers: Lee “Bud” Moris and Mark Moris.
She is survived by her children: Linda (Rick) Thomas, and Donald Vidal and his wife Teresa Sills; three grandchildren; two great grandsons; many special nieces, nephews, loving family and friends.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
