Esther M. Becker, age 79, of 1109 S. 20th St., Manitowoc, died Saturday morning, October 8, 1994, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 11, 1994, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Concelebrating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Revs. Roman Zbieranski O.F.M. and and Thomas Wojciechowski O.F.M. with burial to follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born January 22, 1915, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Jess and veronica Budysh Dempski. She married Ervin Becker on September 20, 1934, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death August 3, 1973. Esther and her husband owned and operated Becker's Grocery Store located on 20th and Hamilton for many years. She was also active in the Manitowoc Bowling Leagues. Mes. Becker was also a member of the St. Mary's Rosary and Altar Society attending Mass daily.
Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara A. Becker, Mary C. Becker, Sandy A. and Gerald Bull, all of Manitowoc; three granddaughters, Lynn and Barry Lemberger, Rosie Bull, Wendy Bull; one brother, Danny Dempski; a special friend, Dorothy B. Bieda, all of Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mildred Burish, a brother, Chester Dempski, a grandson, Steven Bull, and a sister-in-law, Anita Dempski.
Friends may call at the Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. this Monday. A Rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. by Rev. Roman Zbieranski O.F.M.
