Born April 28, 1930, in Eddyville to Roscoe and Ada Lee Nelson Eades, he married Evelyn Wehmeier on Aug. 20, 1979, in Peoria. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Leonard of Phoenix, Ariz., Mark of Creve Coeur and Scott at the Naval Station in Hawaii; three stepsons, Bill Putney of Trivoli, Terry Putney of Fort Bliss, Texas, and Jim Putney of Peoria; six stepdaughters, Cathy Shelby, Cindy Lowery and Teresa Whitby, all of Peoria, Dara Booth and Debbie Putney, both of Glasford, and Becky Rohman of Metamora. Four brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
He was employed by Hiram Walker for 18 years. He later worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 11 years, last working in 1981. He was a Korean War Marine veteran.
Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
