Mrs. Ignatius Bonk, lifelong Manitowoc County resident, died early Sunday morning at the home, 1214 S. 13th St., Manitowoc, following a lingering illness. She was 77.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 9 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church. The Rev. Alfred Pritzl will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The former Julia Rohde was born Feb. 12, 1878, atManitowoc, daughter of the late Martin and Mary Welnick Rohde. She was married to Ignatius Bonk on Jan. 27, 1895, at St. Casimir Church, Newton, and the couple settled on a farm in the Town of Centerville. They moved to Manitowoc 41 years ago. Mr. Bonk died in 1933.

Mrs. Bonk was a member of the St. Ann Christian Mother’s Altar Society of the church and the St. Theresa Society.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Thomas Ozga, Mrs. Emil Chermak, Mrs. Leo Kattner and Mrs. Roy Christoffel of Manitowoc; a son, John Bonk of Manitowoc; two brothers, Edward Rohde of Newton and Frank Rohde of Sheboygan; a sister, Mrs. Nick Kuffel of Newton; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Mary Glomski, died two weeks ago.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
