Alfred Morgan was born in Glasshire, England, in January, 1835. He grew to manhood and was married to Mary Ann Simmons of the same place. They came to America in 1870, and lived in Ohio for ten years, and came to Kansas in the early eighties. To this union were born five children, two of whom died in infancy. Eliza McAlister, the eldest daughter, died Jan. 13, 1905, leaving a husband and six children to mourn her loss. William A. died in December 1913, at the age of 55 years, and on the 25th of May following, the mother succeeded him. The younger daughter, Olive, was married to Mr. Loveall, and moved to San Diego, Cal. …. At last he laid down to rest at his daughter’s home in California, but requested that his body be laid by the side of his life companion in the city beautiful near Holton …. The ripe old age of 83 years, having died in San Diego, Calif., on August 22 ….
