Laura B. Cooper, 86, of Wind Ridge, died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, December 30, 1967, in the Greene County Memorial Hospital where she had been seriously ill for the past four months.
She was born February 10, 1881, in Richhill Township, the daughter of George and Jennie Murdy Wendell.
Mrs. Cooper lived all of her life in Richhill Township and was a member of the Long Run Church of God, although she had attended the Wind Ridge Christian Church for the past 45 years.
Mrs. Cooper was married three times. Her first husband was Thomas M. Tharp, her second husband was Roseberry Kinney and her third husband was Evan Cooper.
Surviving from her first marriage are two sons: Thomas M. Tharp, of Wind Ridge, and Everett Tharp, of Burlingame, Calif., and a daughter, Doris, wife of George Parson, of Pine Bank.
Surviving from the second union is a daughter, Wilma, wife of Martin Whiteman, of Snoeshoe; three step-children, Mrs. Wilda Campbell, of Wind Ridge, Mrs. Edna Shrader, of Wheeling, W. Va., and Mrs. Ruth Courtwright, of Washington.
Also surviving are a brother, Edward Wendell, of Cameron, W. Va.; 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandhildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Hallie Clutter, two sons, Foster and Lloyd Tharp, and two brothers, are deceased.
