Bobby Joe Suggs, 82, was born on August 29, 1929 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Maggie and Richard D. Suggs.Bobby Joe Suggs was a gentleman in the truest sense of the word, a dedicated husband to his wife for 62 years, and a loving father to his three children. Our Mom has always told us he was not only her husband, but the love of her life, her strength and her very best friend. He leaves behind his loving wife, our mother, Marie, who cared so dearly for him during his years and was by his side continually until he went home to God. His three children were also by his side, Beth James of San Antonio, Kathryn Molpus (Eddie) and Robert (Russell), both of Corpus Christi. Bobby leaves two beautiful grandchildrenCortney Comp (Joel) of San Antonio and Grant Molpus, and two great-grandchildren, Braeden and Ava Comp, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bobby's brother, Jim Suggs, and sister, Carol Walters both live in Corpus Christi. His parents and four sisters, Catherine Hurst, Velma Hurst, Thelma Williamson, Bea Powers and his brother, Richard Davis, Jr. preceded him in death.Bobby served two years in White Sands, New Mexico with the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Traveling central and south Texas representing James Bute Paint Company out of Houston and he also sold real estate during his retirement. Dad's love of golf with Joe Moseley and John Hominick on Saturday mornings will never be forgotten and our fond memories of being his golf caddy. Our Daddy succumbed to the damaging effects of dementia and fought a hard battle bravely during his last days with us. God welcomed Dad home in Heaven on Tuesday, July 24, 2012, and now he is at peace. While we wish he could have remained with us longer, we shall always be comforted that we shared in his journey to everlasting life. We love you very much.Special thanks to Joe and Yolanda Hominick whose prayer vigil comforted Dad and our family in the moments before he left this world and to Rosie Moseley for her care and support. Also, to the incredible nurses at Odyssey Hospice for their loving care.Pallbearers will be Eddie and Grant Molpus, Russell Moody, Joel Comp, John Hominick, Jr., and J.P. Hominick.
