LAST RITES FOR VETERAN POSTMAN, PROBABLY MONDAY

Funeral services for HEWITT M. PATTERSON, 72, Grand Rapids mail carrier for 35 years, who died at the home of his brother, ALBERT J. PATTERSON, 55 Cutler st., SW., may be held Monday, it was announced yesterday. The services are being delayed pending the arrival of a sister, MRS. C.A. HENSHAW of St. Petersburg, Fla., who is expected in the city Saturday.

Mr. Patterson, who was born in Paris township and has lived in Kent county all his life, retired from active mail carrying about three years ago. He was one of the first downtown carriers in the city, and was widely acquainted among business men here.

Besides his brother and sister a daughter, MRS. ALICE BARTLETT and a grandson, ALFRED BARTLETT survive.

PATTERSON FAMILY REUNION.

Members of the PATTERSON FAMILY will hold their reunion Wednesday at Reeds lake. MRS. STELLA RICHMOND HILL will read her original anniversary poem, "A Hundred Years in Grand River Valley." and EDWARD CLEMENTS of Ada, a pioneer teacher of Kent county, will tell stories of the early days. MRS. MYRTLE KOON CHERRYMAN will give readings and MRS. HAROLD R. NYE will give a program of vocal selections. Dinner will be served at noon and several hundred guests are expected.
