RAYMOND F. KIRCHEN

Raymond R. Kirchen, 77, of 913 Manitou St., Manitowoc, died Sunday night, Feb. 23, at Holy Family Medical Center, Manitowoc. Funeral services will be 9:30 am Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 am at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. Gerald Prusakowski OFM Cap., will officiate at the Mass of Christian Burial and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Kirchen was born June 20, 1908 at Manitowoc, son of the late Charles N. and Emma Bruns Kirchen. He was a lifelong Manitowoc resident. He married Leona C. Lishka, Aug. 28, 1937 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death Nov. 19, 1975. He then married Josephine Olson, Dec. 13, 1980 at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Prior to his retirement in 1971, Mr. Kirchen was employed at Manitowoc Shipbuilding as a Pipefitter for over 30 years. He was a member of Manitowoc County Senior Health Care Inc., United Association of Journeymen and Apprentice of Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry, City of Manitowoc Committee on Aging, Manitowoc County Legislative Action Group, Senior Citizens Advisory Board, their executive board and was presently serving as Treasurer of Senior Citizens and was a member and former President of Manitowoc Pigeon Club and Friends of the Library.
Survivors include his wife, Josephine; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Patty of Manitowoc; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Mrs. Kathryn Klein, Mrs. James (Marilyn) Rysticken and Mrs. Glenn (Barbara) Schneider all of Manitowoc; a brother, Charles of Manitowoc; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Cecelia) Krohn of Manitowoc; 13 grandchildren and 6 step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and two brothers.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 4 pm to 9 pm Tuesday, where a prayer service will be 7:30 pm.
