Samuel "Sammy" Castillo, age 74, went to be with the Lord while surrounded by the ones he laughed with, lived for and loved, on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in Dallas, Texas.

Son of Casimira and Faustino Castillo, Sammy was born on May 17, 1942 in Vanadium, New Mexico. On July 7, 1960, Sammy married the love of his life, Arcenia Trujillo. Sammy was the father of five beautiful children, Debbie, Terry, Sammy Jr., Johnny and Cindy and grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was a hard-working, kind and generous man who loved spending time with his family, fishing and being outdoors. Countless people have been blessed by Sammy's generosity of spirit, love and sense of humor that would light up a room. Blessed were those who knew him and cherished him.

Funeral services were held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Church with Father Mike Williams officiating. Burial followed at Capitan Cemetery. The Castillo family would like to extend their gratitude to all of those that attended, sent prayers and loved Sammy.

Sammy was preceded in death by his parents, Faustino and Casimira Castillo and his bride Arcenia Castillo.
