Diane Marie Kubichka, 60, Green Bay, died Thursday morning, March 13, 2003, at a local nursing home. Born in Manitowoc, on Aug. 15, 1942, she is the daughter of the late Rueben and Jane (Burich) Kubichka. Diane attended Garfield Grade School in Manitowoc. Although Diane was born with special needs, she assumed the role of mother in raising her younger siblings when her mother, Jane passed away at a young age. In 1963, Diane moved to Green Bay, where she was a resident of Demes (Cottonwood Center). She was employed and enjoyed working at B.A.R.C. industries for many years. Diane enjoyed crafts, country music, Disney characters, the Lawrence Welk show and giving her family cut-out gifts. She is survived by her brothers and sisters, Kay Augustine, Manitowoc; Nancy (Al) Madel, Seymour; Ken (Patti) Kubichka, Two Rivers; Marian Rabideau, Green Bay; half-sisters, Susan (Pete) Goltz, Green Bay; Julie (Brian) Longtin, De Pere; four stepbrothers, Leroy (Sue) Patske, Green Bay; Michael Thomas, Green Bay; Donald (Shawna) Thomas, Green Bay; Ronald Thomas, Suamico; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rueben and Jane Kubichka; stepmother, Lorraine (Lealiou) Kubichka; paternal and maternal grandparents. Visitation at MALCORE Funeral Home, University Ave. at Baird St., from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of the funeral. Funeral service Saturday 11:30 a.m.. at the funeral home with the Rev. David Pleier officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc. Special thanks to the entire staff of the Cottonwood Center, especially Debbie Jaskolski and her mother, Marie.
