Helen Kuffel, 79, of 1306 Philippen Street, Manitowoc, died Saturday, August 27, 1988 at her residence. Funeral services will be 9:30 am Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. James Stamborski with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Kuffel was born August 13, 1909 at Two Rivers, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Bernard and Bertha Weir Beitzel. She married Earl Kuffel on December 1, 1934 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, Two Rivers. The couple celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1984. Mrs. Kuffel was a member of St. Theresa Society of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella, Elks Auxiliary of Manitowoc and the Manitowoc Senior Center. Mrs. Kuffel volunteered many years of service to St. Mary’s Home, Manitowoc.
Survivors include her husband, Earl; two daughters, Judi Ceaglske of Green Bay and Bette Kreisa of Kohler; a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Sue Kuffel of Sturgeon Bay; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Frank of Two Rivers, Robert and Mary Ann of Two Rivers, Claude of Two Rivers and Roland and Gloria of Phoenix, Arizona; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Mrs. Stanley (Gertrude) Whitman of Kaukauna, Mrs. John (Delores) Hoffman of Two Rivers, Norma and Ken Lesperance of Two Rivers and Catherine and Russell Shambeau of Two Rivers; two brothers-in-law, Louie Melicher of Two Rivers and Carl Oestreich of Two Rivers; two sisters-in-law, Emma Beitzel of Two Rivers and Lillian Beitzel of Two Rivers and eight grandchildren, Steven and Susan Ceaglske, Kristin, David and Charles Kreisa and Andrea, Beth and Jon Kuffel, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Peter, Harold and Archie, two sisters, Genevieve and Sally and two sons-in-law, Dave Ceaglske and Bill Kreisa.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral home, 4 pm to 8 pm Tuesday where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 pm led by Rev. Stamborski.
