Seth was a Quaker. He moved with his Mother, brothers and sisters to Tennessee from North Carolina. He and Charity moved to Indiana and then to Washington County, Arkansas. Their children moved to Arkansas with them. It is reported that Seth was a large man over 6 feet tall with Brown hair and blue eyes. They endured the deaths of many of their children. Seth was found in 1870 living with the children of Jacob Mills, who was killed by bushwhackers during the Civil War.
