Kathryn Lappen, 86, died Thursday, August 11, 1988 at Park Lawn Home, Manitowoc. She was born January 16, 1902 at Cooperstown, daughter of the late John and Catherine (Cenefeldt) Wanish. On April 22, 1930 she married Peter Lappen at St. James Catholic Church, Cooperstown. He preceded her in death October 23, 1969.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Carol Borik, Fox Lake, Ill., and Dorothy and Dale Sievert, Waukesha; two sisters, Elizabeth Furnas, Manitowoc and Chloe Wanish, Cooperstown; two grandchildren, Cheryl and Christopher Sievert, Waukesha.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Funeral was Saturday at St. Boniface Catholic Church with Rev. Gerald Prusakowski, O.F.M. officiating. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

MISS KATHRYN WANISH IS BRIDE OF P. LAPPEN TODAY
In the presence of many friends and relatives, Miss Kathryn Wanish became the bride of Peter Lappen of Cooperstown at 9 o'clock this morning with Rev. Jacobs officiating at the ceremony. The wedding was a simple but charming event. Miss Elizabeth Wanish attended as the bridesmaid with William McConnell attending the groom as the best man. A reception was held immediately after the ceremony and a dinner was served to one hundred relatives and friends.
Mr. and Mrs. Lappen left shortly after the dinner on a several days honeymoon to Milwaukee and Chicago. Upon returning the young couple will take up residence in the city, Mr. Lappen holding a position as postal clerk in the local office.
The out of town guests who were present at the ceremony include the following: Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Soden of Ashland, Senator John Cashman of Madison, Judge and Mrs. Johnn P. Russ of Evanston and Miss Elizabeth Wanish of Chicago.
