Joseph (Joe) Lemberger, age 89, of Park Lawn Nursing Home, passed away Monday, July 22, 1996, at the Home.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 24, 1996, at 6 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Father Roman Zbieranski O.F.M. will officiate with burial in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born January 13, 1907, in Whitelaw, son of the late Joseph and Mary Fischer Lemberger. He attended St. Michael's School in Whitelaw. He married Gladys Reindl October 21, 1931, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Whitelaw. He was a farmer for 30 years and was employed in the canning industry for ten years and also later in the cheese industry for ten years before retiring. The couple came to Manitowoc in 1965. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Jacqueline Lemberger, Hilbert, Eugene and Carol Ann Lemberger, Manitowoc; one daughter and son-in-law, Celestine and Harold Kimmel, Whitelaw; twelve grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Reiner Lemberger, Whitelaw; one sister-in-law, Marcella Lemberger, Whitelaw; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Hermann, Martha and Victor Opichka, all of Cato. He was preceded in death by his wife, one brother, one sister and one grandson.
Friends may call at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Jens Funeral Home until the time of service at the church. The Jens Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
