Alfred Miller Jr. , age 71, of 1705 S. 15th St., Manitowoc, died Tuesday, June 30, 1998, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 3, 1998, at the Jens Family Funeral Home. Officiating will be Rev. Carl Meulemans, with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Alfred was born September 20, 1926, in the Town of Cato, son of the late Alfred and Clara Springstube Miller. He served in the U.S. Army. He married the former Shirley Delsmann on May 24, 1947, at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death in 1997. He was a member of the Manitowoc racing Pigeon Club since 60.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jane Miller, Manitowoc,; four daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Patrick Brandl, Manitowoc, Judy and Jeffery Check, Newton, Linda and Dennis Brandl, Manitowoc, Letty and Lee Ward, Carson City, Nev.; seven grandchildren, Tami Brandl, Milwaukee, Tina Brandl, Manitowoc, Nick Brandl, Oshkosh, Rebecca Brandl, Manitowoc, Chris Brandl, Manitowoc, Callie and Joey Ward, Carson City, Nev.; two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Gordon Miller, Two Rivers, Gerald and Winnie Miller, Manitowoc, Marietta Miller, Two Rivers, LaVerne Miller, Manitowoc; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Janet and Harold Mueller, Manitowoc, Karen and Abe Abraham, Random Lake, Wis., Sharon and John Cookle, Manitowoc. He is further survived by three brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Jerome Miller; and one brother-in-law, Francis Delsmann.
Relatives and friends may call at the Jens Family Funeral Home from 9 a.m. on Friday until the time of services at 10 a.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
