Dorothy Jane Cozart Pearson Kay went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ Jan. 11, 2008. She was born to Neal and Jane Cozart in Entiat, Wash., Nov. 4, 1921, and was one of the happy children of five; she is survived by one brother, Bill Cozart of Sweet Home, Ore.

Dorothy was loved by all and never knew a stranger. As a strong devoted Christian, she spent most of her life dedicated to being the church pianist, Sunday school teacher, and constant witness to all who knew her. She was especially dedicated to working with teenagers and young adults.

Dorothy was happily married to Carl Pearson (now deceased) and raised two children, Gale Day and Bobby Pearson. After the passing of Carl, the Lord introduced her to Milt Kay, and they were married and had another 26 years of glorious married life, until Milt went to be with the Lord in 2004.

Dorothy was a creative genius. She wrote many beautiful Christian songs, and was also a self-taught artist. For over 26 years, she was known by many as an extraordinary "Teacher of Art." She taught many to love the art world, giving people encouragement, not only through her teachings, but in her consistent example as a strong Christian, and through the constant love she had for her family.

Until a week before her passing, she would sketch incredible pictures of people and wildlife, and would lovingly give them to others to give them pleasure and comfort. Dorothy will leave a legacy to all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Gale Day; son-in-law, Dannie Day; son, Bobby Pearson; daughter-in-law, Lucy Pearson; granddaughters, Isabella, Ali and Tori; grandson, Mark Lane; granddaughter-in-law, Robyn Lane; great-granddaughters, Madison Lane and Isabelle Lane; grandson, Scott Lane; and her granddaughter, Jenny Lane.

Dorothy gave her family so much; two incredible fathers who loved and provided for their family, and her constant reassurance of love and guidance. To say she will be missed, is an understatement, and she will always remain in our thoughts and in our hearts. We love you Mom, Grandmother and Great Grandmother!
