Absolum Davenport is the son of George Davenport & Sarah Jane Gray. In 1800 he was a resident of Greenville, Pitt Co NC.
In 1820 he was a resident of Lebanon, Wilson Co TN.
In 1840, in Cannon Co TN.
In 1850 he lived in the Sanders Fork area, Auburntown TN.
He is a veteran of the War of 1812. On 3 Dec 1850 Absolum applied for bounty land for service in the war of 1812. In the application he says he is about 76 years old and was drafted for a period of six months, 15 Nov 1814 to 13 May 1815. He was given 80 acres of land in the state of Iowa. He sold the land to Isaiah Morris.
He married:
1st - Mary Elizabeth Ward, Bef 1800, in Person Co NC.
2nd - Jane Coulter (widow of Elijah Fann), Abt 1837.
