Donald T Oneal, 85, of Hetland, SD, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015, at the Golden Living Center, Arlington, SD. He died peacefully surrounded by his wife and children.

Don was born December 10, 1929, on the family farm in Wadena, IN, to Roy and Ada (Nelson) Oneal. Don married Jean Rottum, June 26, 1954, at Lake Whitewood Lutheran Church, Arlington, SD.

Don served 21 years in the Air Force, followed by 25 years as a High School Jr. ROTC instructor. He also served 34 years as a preacher in the Church of the Nazarene, including the church at Carthage, SD. Don enjoyed softball, bowling, snow-skiing, trains, reading, and having fun.

He is survived by his wife, his children Terri (Ron) Mitchell, Marietta, GA; Rande (Jane) Oneal, Coram, NY; Rick (Heather) Oneal, Portland, OR; and Toni (Larry) Stephens, Houston, TX; 19 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren. Also, his siblings Jean Coffman, Lafayette, IN; Nels (Cindy) Oneal, Lafayette, IN; Jet Gilbert, Oxford, IN; and Wayne (Berneice) Oneal, Oxford, IN. Don was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Charles Coffman and Robert Gilbert.

A private burial service was held Monday, April 13, 2015, at Lake Whitewood Lutheran Church, Arlington, SD.
