James McKinney enlisted in the service July 5, 1862 as a private with the 15th Ind L. A. He was married to Violet OLDHAM Jan 1866.
They had 2 children - Sarah MCKINNEY b. 1868 & Arthur McKinney b. 1870. He died of a disability he received in the war. He died near Alexandria on March 3, 1871. We are not sure of when or where he was born. We think he was born in Ireland or his family came from there. He has living relatives in Indiana.
