Cyril Kendall Ainsworth died Sunday, June 19, 2011, at the Crystal Ridge Care Center in Grass Valley.
He was born Nov. 26, 1919 in Philadelphia, Pa. He was the son of Cyril and Frances Ainsworth. He graduated in 1937 from Teaneck High School in New Jersey.
He was a graduate of Oberlin College in Ohio with a degree in music. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a naval photographer for the Bikini Atomic Bomb test and for President Truman.

He sailed from San Diego to Pearl Harbor on the U.S.S.Saidor on May 7, 1946


He married Helen Goodwin on Oct 9, 1943 in Providence, RI. They lived wherever Ken’s work with General Electric Co. took them. They moved to Grass Valley in 1975.
He was a member of Calvary Bible Church in Grass Valley. He encouraged many with his Bible teaching and music directing.
His hobbies included enjoying baseball, football, reading, traveling, teaching, music, baking and spending time with his family.
He was adored by his family. All those who had the privilege of knowing Ken, knew what a wonderful man he was. He was a godly man of integrity, exemplifying reality of Jesus in his life. He truly showed what it was to have a “life well lived.”
Ken married Merlyne Stroud Cook July 16, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Merlyne; a brother, Richard H. Ainsworth; a son, Richard A. Ainsworth; a daughter, Susan Davidson; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; as well as three step-sons and their children.
He was preceded in death by Helen G. Ainsworth, wife, 1996.
At 11 a.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011, a graveside service will be held at the Greenwood Memorial Gardens, Rough and Ready Highway, Grass Valley.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Crystal Ridge Care Center at 396 Dorsey Drive, Grass Valley, CA 95945.
Hooper and Weaver Mortuary are handling the arrangements.

In 1920, Ken (2 months old) was living at 410 Harvard Avenue in Springfield, Delaware County, PA with his parents.

In 1930 Ken was living at 448 West Englewood Avenue in Teaneck, Bergen County,NJ with his parents and younger brother Richard.

In 1940, Ken is still living at their Teaneck address attending his 3rd year in college.
