THACKERVILLE, Okla. — Graveside service for Ruth Pinkston, 80, of Thackerville, Okla., is set for 10 a.m. Friday at Mt. Zion Cemetery with Bro. Murray McMurray officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home.

Mrs. Pinkston died Monday, June 12, 2006, at Mercy Health Love County in Marietta, Okla. On Aug. 29, 1945, she married Wayne Pinkston in Marietta, Okla. A resident of Fort Worth for 20 years, she then moved back to Love County, Okla., in 1972 to make her home. Mrs. Pinkston retired from Cooke County College in Gainesville as a custodian and then was an employee of Weber Aircraft, also in Gainesville. She enjoyed playing dominoes and bingo and spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially teaching her granddaughters how to make fried pies. Mrs. Pinkston was a member of the Thackerville Church of Christ.

Survivors include her son, Bobby Pinkston of Thackerville, Okla.; daughters and son-in-law, Betty and James Maggard of Thackerville, Okla., and Sue Dale of Thackerville, Okla.; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Willie Jones; and sisters, Emma McGuffey, Etheline Craft, Zadella Darter and Pat Bozeman.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Pinkston on May 11, 2006; parents; brothers, A.D. Jones and Pete Jones; and sister, Rozella Green.

Pallbearers are granddaughters, Karen Robinson, Jenna Robinson, Melanie Maggard, Crystal Maggard, Kaci Maggard, Bobbi Jo Dale; Pam Maggard and Sarah Nelson.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Tom O'Connor and staff of Mercy Health Love County.

Visitation will be at the Flanagan-Watts Funeral Home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.

Born on March 10, 1926, to Zade and Pauline Chaney Jones in Love County, she died on Monday, June 12, 2006, in a Marietta hospital. She married Wayne Pinkston on Aug. 29, 1945, in Marietta. Her husband preceded her in death on May 11, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, A.D. Jones and Pete Jones; and a sister, Rozella Green.

A resident of Fort Worth, Texas, for 20 years, Mrs. Pinkston moved back to Love County in 1972 to make her home. She retired from Cooke County College in Gainesville, Texas, as a custodian, and then was an employee at Weber Aircraft, also in Gainesville.

She enjoyed playing dominoes and bingo and spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially teaching her granddaughters how to make fried pies. She was a member of Thackerville Church of Christ.
