MATHIAS G. BIRRINGER
(1889 - 1971)

Mathias G. Birringer, 81, formerly of Rt. 2, Two Rivers, died Sunday at Hamilton Memorial Home, Two Rivers, following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville, and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church, Francis Creek. A son of the deceased, the Rev. Raphael Birringer, will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Birringer was born July 12, 1889, in the Town of Kossuth, Manitowoc County, son of the late Nicholas and Anna Orth Birringer. He married Mary Nachtwey May 28, 1912, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Pine Grove. The couple farmed in the Town of Kossuth. Mr. Birringer served as a former trustee of St. Ann church. His wife preceded him in death Jan. 3, 1965. He resided at the Yindra boarding home at Francis Creek the past five years.

Survivors include five sons, Erwin of Rt. 1, Manitowoc, Sylvester and William of Manitowoc, Norman of Milwaukee and Father Raphael of St. Pius Parish, Wauwatosa; a daughter, Mrs. Raymond (Evelyn) Lemberger, of Manitowoc; two brothers. Edward of Rt. 1, Cato, and Frank of Uriah, Ala.; a sister, Mrs. John Haws of Francis Creek; 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A son, George, preceded him in death in 1963, a daughter and a son died in infancy, and a brother also preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday where a prayer service will be at 8 p.m.
