CATHY STINNER WRIGHT MELBOURNE Born February 4, 1951 in Pitts burgh, Pennsyl vania, Cathy grew up in an environment surrounded by family and friends. She happily helped her Dad at his garage while attending St. Agnes Parochial School. Cathy received her Bache lors Degree from the University of Pittsburgh and taught in the Pennsylvania school system for one and one half years. She was finally able to attain her dream of moving to the sands of Florida in 1973. She attended Graduate School at the Univer sity of Central Florida, while teaching full time, earning her Masters Degree. She continued to teach school in South Brevard County until her untimely death Tuesday, June 13, 2006. Cathy spent most of her career working with and setting up programs for learning disa bled children. Cathy taught at Stone Jr. High School, Palm Bay Elementary, Lockmar Ele mentary, Riviera Elementary, and University Park Elementary. During her long career Cathy touched many lives, often guid ing her students to reach much higher goals than they ever believed they could attain. In the 2002-2003 school year Cathy was paid the highest compliment an educator can receive. She was nominated and voted Teacher of the Year by her peers at University Park. Cathy enjoyed her challeng ing chosen profession as an educator, but was most at home in and on the water; surfing, swimming, diving, sailing, or just walking in the sand along a quiet beach. Cathys greatest pleasures also included travel ing, reading, and snuggling with her constant canine compan ions, Rowdy and Buddy! She will be and already is missed by her friends and sur viving family which includes her son, Jacob; husband, Andrew; father, Rusty Stinner; brother, Bob, along with his wife Lucy and son Bobby. She was recently preceded in death by her mother, Grace and Mother-in-Law, Ginny. To a truly Outstanding Moth er, World Class Wife, Daughter, Sister, Teacher, and True Friend, we love you. A visitation will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 18 at Florida Memorial Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 19 at Ascension Catholic Church.
