Collins Beckwith died at his home in Bath, Wed, Aug. 10, in his 71st year. Mr. Beckwith had been ill for a week or more, and for some months had been in poor health.
He was born in Simsbury, CT, in 1827, and has been a resident of Bath since 1848 - fifty years.
He commenced here as a traveler, selling watches and jewelry, and is known to most residents of the county.
In 1857 he married Miss Chichester of Wheeler, who died several years ago.
In 1892 he married Mrs. William Larson of Rochester, who survives him. He also leaves one daughter, Miss Isadore; and one brother, John L. Beckwith of Bath; also, two sisters, Mrs. S.L. Holcomb of Bath, and Mrs. Agnes Hitchcock, of CT.
There will be a funeral service at his late residence on Thurs at 4 o'clock pm, Rev. Dr. Dryer officiating. On Fri morning the remains will be taken to Rochester for burial in Mount Hope Cemetery.

Collins Beckwith died at his home on Liberty St, Wed. morning, after a few days' illness with dysentery.
Mr. Beckwith was born at Simsbury, CT, 72 years ago, and has been a resident of Bath for about forty years.
He is survived by his third wife, and a daughter by his second wife.
"Beck" [as he was familiarly called] was a typical Yankee, and was widely known as a peddler and auctioneer. He was of a very jovial nature, a person of quick wit and a great joker, and took a joke on himself with good grace. He will be pleasantly remembered by his friends.
