The son of Abraham & Maria (Fauss) Livingston, in 1860 he was a farmer living in Latimore Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania. He stood 5' 6" tall and had brown hair and blue eyes.
A Civil War veteran, he enlisted in York Springs, Adams County, August 7, 1862, mustered into federal service at Harrisburg August 13 as a private with Co. I, 127th Pennsylvania Infantry, and honorably discharged with his company May 29, 1863. He also enlisted and mustered into federal service at Harrisburg January 27, 1864, as a private with Co. F, 21st Pennsylvania Cavalry (182nd Pa). Wounded at Appomattox Court House April 9, 1865. he honorably discharged July 19, 1865.
He married Isabel Chronister and fathered Charles Sumner (b. 04/03/89) and George William (b. 03/27/95, d. 07/13/08). In 1890, he lived in York Springs, Adams County, where he died at age 68-10-3 from "hemorrhage into the brain" with "chronic nephritis" a contributing factor.
