Otis Grant Rush, 58-year old sawyer at the Walker Brothers Stone Company here, died suddenly at 6:30 p.m. Monday at his home, 1204 North Walnut Grove from an acute heart attack. He had been under the care of a physician for some time but his condition was not considered serious and he had continued working.

The remains were removed to the Allen funeral home where plans for burial were to be completed later in the day when his children had been heard from.

Survivors include the wife, Evie; four daughters, Mrs. Ben White, Bakersfield, California; Mrs. Norvin Alvey, Buffalo, Indiana; Mrs. Ann Wesley, Bloomington; and Miss Martha Rush, at home; three sons, Gilbert Eugene of Clarksville, Tennessee; Leroy of Kansas City, Missouri; and Sammy, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Brooks Sare and Mrs. Kressie Weaver, both of Bloomington; one brother, William Rush, Monroe county, and seven grand children.

A native and life-long resident of Monroe county, he was the son of Thomas and America Koontz Rush. He was affiliated with the A. F. of L. and had joined the South Union Christian Church in 1914.

The remains will be left at the mortuary.

Last rites for Otis G. Rush, who passed away suddenly Monday at his residence, 1204 North Walnut Grove, will be held Friday at 2 p. m. at the Clear Creek Christian Church. The services have been delayed so that the daughter Mrs. Ben White, could have time to come from California. She is expected to arrive in Bloomington tonight, accompanied by her husband.

Rev. Harry Smith and Edward Helton will officiate at the memorial services. Mrs. Leslie Peters and Mrs. Noble Henderson will have charge of the music. Interment will be in the church yard.

Active pall bearers will be nephews. They are: Roy and Clay Rush, Marion and Wayne Sare, Ivan McConnell and Herbert Scaggs. Honorary pall bearers are millworkers with whom Mr. Rush had been associated in the stone industry. They are Omar May, Charles Van Pelt, Charles Sylvester, Guy Chambers, Howard Freeze, and Homer Miller.

Flower bearers will be Nellie Helton, Naola Rush, Delores Hester, Maxine Taylor, Eva May Leasure and Maudie Rush.

The remains continue to lie in state until the funeral hour at the Allen mortuary.
