Catherine Connelly was born about July of 1849 in Binghamton, New York to James Connelly and Bridget Conley.


Catherine was married to James W. Bacon.

1900 Lock Haven, Clinton, PA, Kathern Bacon 50 born July 1849 NY, widowed, had 6 children with 5 living, rented home at 42 E Bald Eagle St., George 24, Frank 21, Mary 26, and Clair 19.


Catherine died on Aug. 7, 1907 at Lock Haven, PA. She was 54 years old, widowed, and lived at 42 Bald Eagle St. Catherine was buried at the Irish Catholic Cemetery (St Mary's) on Aug. 9th. The informant on her death certificate was Miss Mary Connelly of the same address.

Note: This Mary Connelly was born 1846 at NY, & was her sister.

Death of Respected Lady After Lingering Illness.

Mrs. Catherine Bacon, widow of the late James Bacon, died at her home 42 East Bald Eagle street this morning at 2 o'clock of a complication of diseases, aged about 54 years. She had been in ill health for the past year but bore her sufferings without murmuring. Mrs. Bacon was a kind and affectionate mother and her loss will be keenly felt by the entire household. She was a good neighbor and had the respect of all who knew her, all of whom regret her demise.

Deceased was born in Binghamton, N.Y., but later moved to Corning, N.Y., where she spent the earliest years of her life. About 30 years ago the family came to Lock Haven and have resided here ever since.

The surviving relatives are Miss Mary Conley, her only sister, and the following children, Misses Mary and Clare, George the well known sign painter, Thomas of the Democrat office and Frank and employe of the Times Printing company.

Solemn requiem mass was celebrated over the remains at 9 o'clock Friday morning in the Church of the Immaculate Conception by Rev. Father Yahmer, the rector. A number of beautiful floral tributes graced the casket. The pall bearers were Edward Monaghan, W. A. Reed, R. A. Hays, Daniel Monaghan, Patrick McCaffery, and Walter Zimmerman. Interment was made in St. Mary's cemetery.
