Glenn H. (Chippy) Snell, 75, of Cameron Star Route, Waynesburg, died at 9:34 a.m. Monday, July 18, 1994, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, W. Va.
He was born January 26, 1919, in Guernsey County, Ohio, a son of Harry A. and Grace Blue Snell.
Mr. Snell lived his early life in Ohio and resided most of his life in Greene County.
He was a member of Assembly of God Church in East View.
Mr. Snell was a veteran of World War II. He served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater and was stationed at Pearl Harbor during the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941.
A construction worker, Mr. Snell was employed by Mashuda Construction Co., Idamiller Construction Co. and Russell Industries.
For the last 10 years he was a bus driver for McNelly Transportation Co.
His first wife, Minerva Cumberledge Snell, is deceased. His second wife, Hazel Cumberledge Snell, died June 1, 1986.
Surviving from his second marriage are five daughters,and a son.
Also surviving are his third wife, two stepsons, three stepdaughters, 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; four sisters, a brother, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a son, James F. Cumberledge; a daughter, Janet Snell Cross; a sister, Pearle Staudt; and a brother, Ted Snell.
